SNOO Top Screws Spin or Will Not Tighten: Repair Guide
SNOO top screws that spin, will not catch, or no longer secure the top plate can result from plate misalignment, the wrong screw position, damaged threads, or a captive nut that is spinning inside the brown bracket.
Safety first: Unplug the SNOO before opening it. Never repair-test with a baby in the bassinet. After reassembly, reinstall both safety clips and complete the first test with the bassinet empty.
Check alignment before buying a part
- Disconnect power and remove pressure from the plate.
- Confirm the plate is seated flat and that every opening is aligned before tightening any screw fully.
- Start all screws by hand. If one will not catch, stop rather than forcing it or cross-threading the hardware.
- Watch the brown bracket while gently turning the problem screw. If the captive nut turns with the screw, the bracket is the likely failure point.
- Compare the installed bracket and screw arrangement with the guide before ordering.
Repair path
If the plate is aligned but the captive nut spins or the bracket no longer retains it, compare the reinforced brown bracket replacement. If the hardware does not match the guide, send a clear photo before purchasing.
Do not use a power driver to force a screw that is not engaging. That can damage the threads or make disassembly more difficult.
Continue through the interactive top-screw diagnostic or open the repair-guide library.
If the result is unclear, send SnoozyFix the Date Code, bottom-label photo, and a short symptom video before ordering a major part.
