SNOO Motor Runs but the Platform Barely Moves: O-Ring Troubleshooting

If you can hear the SNOO motor running but the platform barely moves, slips, or stalls, start with the mechanical motion-transfer system. A motor that is turning is not automatically a failed motor.

Safety first: Unplug the SNOO before opening it. Never repair-test with a baby in the bassinet. After reassembly, reinstall both safety clips and complete the first test with the bassinet empty.

Most likely starting point

The three small motor O-rings transfer motion from the motor assembly. When they are stretched, flattened, cracked, contaminated, or installed incorrectly, the motor can run without moving the platform normally. Drag or misalignment elsewhere in the platform can create a similar result.

Check in this order

  1. Confirm that the motor can be heard running during an empty-SNOO test.
  2. Disconnect power and inspect all three small motor O-rings, not just the easiest one to see.
  3. Check ring placement, tension, residue, and whether a prior repair used the correct size.
  4. Inspect the center hardware and all seven platform supports for drag, damage, or misalignment.
  5. Identify whether the supports are original grooved pieces with separate large rings or the later overmolded design.

Choose the correct repair

  • Small motor O-rings worn: Use the SNOO O-ring repair kit. It includes three small motor rings and seven large platform-support rings; the large rings are used only when retaining original grooved supports.
  • Older grooved supports worn: Restore them with their large rings or compare the overmolded platform upgrade.
  • You want SnoozyFix to repair it: Choose the O-Ring Repair service.

Do not buy a replacement motor while its shaft is turning unless a separate test confirms an internal motor fault.

If the result is unclear, send SnoozyFix the Date Code, bottom-label photo, and a short symptom video before ordering a major part.
