SNOO Clips Not Engaged Error: Sensor and Wiring Troubleshooting
If the SNOO reports “Clips Not Engaged” while the sack is attached to both sides, diagnose the two safety-clip sensors and their complete wiring path before replacing parts. A connector, wire, or board input can imitate a failed sensor.
Safety first: Unplug the SNOO before opening it. Never repair-test with a baby in the bassinet. After reassembly, reinstall both safety clips and complete the first test with the bassinet empty.
What to check
- Confirm both sack wings are fully inserted and that nothing is preventing either clip from seating.
- Inspect both clip openings and sensors for debris, physical damage, or a part that has shifted.
- Disconnect power before opening the unit.
- Follow each sensor wire from the clip area to its connector. Look for pinched insulation, broken conductors, corrosion, previous splices, and loose or backed-out contacts.
- Photograph both connector ends before disconnecting anything, especially on an early unit with older wiring.
- If both sensors and the harness pass the applicable tests, contact SnoozyFix before treating the motherboard as the cause.
Repair choices
- Confirmed sensor or harness damage: Compare the complete wiring and speaker repair kit.
- Professional sensor repair: Choose Safety Clip Sensor Repair + O-Ring Service.
- Internal harness damage: Choose the complete-SNOO Wiring Harness Repair service.
Do not bypass a safety-clip sensor or operate the SNOO with the safety system defeated.
