SNOO Has Sound but the Platform Will Not Move: Troubleshooting

Sound without platform motion does not prove that the SNOO motor has failed. The fault can be a setting, safety-clip condition, open thermal fuse, damaged connector or harness, motor problem, or motherboard motor-driver/output problem.

Safety first: Unplug the SNOO before opening it. Never repair-test with a baby in the bassinet. After reassembly, reinstall both safety clips and complete the first test with the bassinet empty.

Check in this order

  1. Confirm the SNOO finishes startup and both safety clips are engaged.
  2. Confirm Weaning Mode or another setting is not intentionally suppressing motion.
  3. Listen closely. If the motor is running but the platform slips, use the motor-runs-but-no-motion guide instead.
  4. With power disconnected, test the thermal fuse for continuity using the matching repair guide.
  5. Inspect the motor harness and both connector ends for broken wires, corrosion, heat damage, loose contacts, or backed-out pins.
  6. Only after the fuse and harness pass should the motor windings, bearings, and motherboard output be evaluated.

What the results mean

  • Motor turns: Inspect O-rings, platform drag, supports, and alignment. Do not replace a turning motor from the symptom alone.
  • Thermal fuse is open: Correct that confirmed electrical fault before buying a motor or board service.
  • Harness damage is visible: Repair the wiring or connector before replacing a major component. See the wiring repair kit.
  • Motor phase readings remain open or materially imbalanced: A replacement motor may be appropriate after probe contact and the connector are ruled out.
  • Fuse, harness, connectors, and motor pass: A motherboard motor-driver/output fault becomes possible. Contact SnoozyFix for approval before ordering the board-only diagnostic and repair service.
